Another stunning Big Sur elopement comin’ at ya! This time, I’m showing off Caroline and Ashley’s adventure elopement at Garrapata State Park – you’re going to die at the gorgeousness.
Keep reading to hear about Caroline & Ashley’s story, the details they included in their day, and alternative outfit ideas for your own elopement!
You know those people you meet who you just know were absolutely made for one another? This is only a tiny glimpse at their story, but that’s Caroline and Ashley. You can TELL from the photos that they’re soulmates, if you believe in that kinda thing.
We had THE absolute best morning together on their elopement day. We met up before the sun rose, and they got dressed in their car before we headed to the trail (if you’re planning an adventure elopement, be prepared for no bathrooms to change in)! These two had actually gotten officially married previously, but wanted to celebrate just the two of them with a private elopement adventure.
Caroline and Ashley were reallyyyy stoked to see some iconic Big Sur rocky coastline views. So when we got to our spot, it was such a sigh of relief and excitement to take it all in! I think that’s part of the fun of elopements and vow renewals. You can go anywhere you want, anywhere you’ve been dreaming of, without a care in the world. The sun just feels warmer when you see it rise in a place you love.
And they added the sweetest touch by bringing along a Polaroid camera and taking photos of each other. 10/10 recommend doing this to create even more memories to bring along through your lives after the big day.💛
Ashley had two dresses – one wedding dress, and one elopement dress that she wore for this. She absolutely loved her dress because she could get it dirty at Big Sur and wasn’t worried about ruining it – she loved that there would be memories in the dirt at the bottom of it. The sweetest thing ever, right? And she was in love with the design because it reminded her of a Reformation dress (it actually wasn’t).
Caroline kept it simple with a white top and dark pants that paired perfectly with Ashley’s dress. At the wedding they’d had before, they actually both wore dresses, but Caroline wanted to switch it up this time around.
Here are a few great places that sell different types of wedding outfits, whether you want to wear a dress or something totally different! Think colored outfits, patterns, jumpsuits, tops and bottoms, two-pieces, and more.
Being able to travel to places like this to photograph people in love is what keeps me going. Thank you to Caroline and Ashley for allowing me to be a part of your Big Sur elopement at Garrapata State Park – it filled my heart so dang much.💜
